The Dormobile Owners club is fantastic place to be for all those with an official Martin Walter Dormobile conversion.
It covers every car from the early 1954 Bedford Van conversions right through land rovers and VW Campers to the more recent 1985 Toyota HiAce models. The club is for owners of all official Martin Walter conversions, and also accepts vehicles that may have been converted using Martin Walter Parts. If you’re unsure about whether your own vehicle qualifies, just give them a call and they will happily clarify things.
They are UK based (due to the vast amount of official Dormobiles residing in the UK) and organised by region. They have regular meets during the summer at all sorts of rallies and motor-shows around the country that provide opportunities for owners to get together and socialise, compare notes on vehicle upkeep and generally have fun.
The Dormobile owners club is also the fountain of all knowledge when it comes to technical aspects of the conversions, and are THE people to speak to in this respect, and have a vast amount of knowledge on this and of the cars histories.
The Club also produces a regular magazine – the Dormobile Digest, which for those interested in the subject is a fascinating and very worthwhile read.
